"The Bradford Royal Infirmary's new Accident & Emergency wing had a state of the art security system designed into the new building from its original concept. Most security systems are installed as an after thought, but this was not the case at the Bradford Royal Infirmary's new A&E Department.

In order to achieve a safe working environment for staff and patients alike Centurion Security Systems of Huddersfield were awarded the £280,000 contract for providing: Colour Dome CCTV cameras, a PC based Access Control - Staff ID system and a Staff Personal Attack system. All three systems are fully integrated via a PC based Security management system that automates many operator tasks such as camera selection and alarm recording. The system displays active maps of the A&E department to pin point the exact location of Staff in the event of an attack or a call for assistance in addition to paging alerts.

The CCTV systems boasts the very latest in high quality Sony DV Digital recording whilst the Centurion staff attack system not only identifies which user has operated the system and their location but can also track them if they subsequently move into another area after once activating their infra red personal attack unit clipped on their uniform. Over 90 staff attack ceiling mounted infra red receivers monitor the entire A&E department.
