    Overview

Control who comes through every door

Centurion designs, installs and maintains access control systems for businesses across Northern England. From a single controlled door to a networked, multi-site estate, our accredited engineers specify commercial access control and door entry systems around how your building actually works — with SSAIB and NSI-standard installation and GDPR-compliant handling of entry data as standard. Whether you need fob and card readers for an office, biometric entry for a secure area, or cloud-managed business access control systems across multiple branches, we handle survey, design, installation, commissioning and ongoing support in-house. No sub-contracted hand-offs — one accountable partner, and a system that integrates cleanly with your CCTV and intruder alarms.
    What we install

    Access control systems

From proximity fobs to biometric and mobile credentials — electronic access control specified around your doors, your people and the way your business runs.

We design commercial access control around your building, your headcount and your security policy. Whether you need to control one main entrance, lock down a server room, or manage thousands of credentials across a multi-site estate, our access control systems combine the right reader technology with software, audit trails and remote management — and integrate with your CCTV and intruder alarms.

    01 · Most common

    Proximity card & fob

Tap-to-enter cards and key fobs — the workhorse of commercial access control. Easy to issue, instantly revoked when lost or when a staff member leaves, with a full entry log.

    Offices & shared entrances · Fast issue/revoke
    02 · PIN

    Keypad & PIN entry

Code-based entry for doors where credentials aren't practical, or as a second factor on higher-security areas. Codes are easily changed and managed per door.

    Low-cost · Standalone or networked
    03 · High security

    Biometric entry

Fingerprint and facial-recognition readers for areas where a credential alone isn't enough — data rooms, pharmacies, cash offices and restricted zones.

    Non-transferable · Restricted areas
    04 · Mobile

    Mobile credentials

Turn the phone in your team's pocket into their access credential. Issue and revoke access remotely in seconds — no cards to print, post or replace.

    Smartphone entry · Remote issue
    05 · Cloud

    Cloud-managed access

Hosted, browser-based control of every door and user across all your sites. Manage permissions, pull reports and unlock doors remotely from anywhere.

    Multi-site · Remote management
    06 · Wireless

    Wireless & standalone

Battery-powered smart locks and standalone controllers for doors where cabling is impractical — cupboards, internal offices, heritage buildings and phased roll-outs.

    Minimal disruption · Retrofit
    Specified to commercial standard
    SSAIB / NSI Accredited installation
    GDPR Compliant entry-data handling
    Encrypted Secure credentials & comms
Integrated CCTV, intruder & fire link
    Manage every entrance

Door access control & entry systems

Door access control systems decide who gets through which door, when — and keep a record of every entry. Our door access control systems range from a single intercom on a front door to networked entry across every door in the building, all managed from one place and integrated with your wider security.

For receptions, shared lobbies and tenanted buildings, our commercial door entry systems let staff and visitors be identified and admitted remotely — by audio, video or mobile — so the right people get in and everyone else stays out.

Audio & video door entry — see and speak to callers before you release the door, from a handset, screen or your phone.
Multi-tenant & multi-door — individual entry panels and permissions for shared and tenanted buildings, scaled across every door.
Audit trail & remote unlock — a full log of who entered when, with the ability to lock down or release doors remotely.

    How we work

    Access control installation

    01

    Site survey

A free survey of your doors, traffic flow and security policy to scope exactly which entrances to control and how.

    02

    Design & quote

A clear, fixed-price specification — readers, credentials, software and door hardware — mapped to your building and budget.

    03

    Installation

Employed, accredited engineers install and integrate cleanly around your operation, with wireless options where cabling isn't practical.

    04

    Commission & train

We test every door, load your users and permissions, integrate with fire and intruder, and train your team on the software.

Every install includes fire-system integration — controlled doors release automatically on a fire alarm to meet life-safety requirements, and the system is backed by a planned-maintenance contract.

    Kept working, fully joined-up

    Maintenance & integration

An access control system is only as good as the day it stops letting the right people in. Our planned-maintenance contracts keep every reader, lock and controller serviced, your software updated and your credential database tidy — with priority call-out if a door ever fails.

Because we install CCTV and intruder alarms too, we integrate the lot in-house: doors that arm and disarm the intruder alarm, cameras that capture every entry, and automatic release on a fire alarm.

    Planned servicing

Scheduled visits to test doors, readers and locks, keeping the system reliable and compliant.

    Intruder alarm link

Doors that set and unset your intruder alarm and trigger lockdown — one joined-up system.

    CCTV integration

Every entry tied to camera footage, so an access event and the image behind it sit together.

    Remote management

Add and revoke users, unlock doors and pull audit reports from your phone or browser.

    Why Centurion

    A trusted access control company

Three decades as a dedicated commercial security company — SSAIB and NSI Gold accredited, in-house and accountable from first survey to final handover of your access control system.

    01

    SSAIB & NSI Gold accredited

Every access control system is designed and installed by SSAIB and NSI Gold third-party certified engineers, with GDPR-compliant handling of entry data built in as standard — the accreditation your insurer and compliance team look for.

    02

    Frequently asked questions

How much does a commercial access control system cost?
Cost depends on the number of doors, the type of system — standalone, networked or cloud-based — and whether you need integration with CCTV or intruder alarms. A single-door keypad system starts at a few hundred pounds; multi-door networked or biometric systems for larger sites cost more. We provide a clear, fixed-price quote after a free survey — no estimates that creep.
What types of access control are available?
We install card and fob readers, PIN keypads, biometric (fingerprint and facial recognition) readers, and mobile credential or cloud-based systems you can manage from your phone. Options range from standalone single-door units to fully networked, multi-site systems with centralised user management — we’ll recommend the right fit during your survey.
Can access control integrate with CCTV?
Yes — and it’s how we recommend protecting most commercial premises. Access control can trigger CCTV recording on every entry and exit, giving you visual verification of who used a credential and when. It can also link to your intruder alarm so the system arms and disarms automatically as authorised users come and go. Because we design, install and monitor all of it in-house, everything works together with one point of accountability.
Do you install door entry for multi-tenant buildings?
Yes. We design and install multi-tenant door entry and access control for shared offices, apartment blocks and business parks — with individual credentials per tenant, shared-area permissions, full audit trails and video intercom for visitor access. Each tenant’s access can be managed independently without affecting the rest of the building.
Is access control entry data GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Access logs and credential data are stored securely with role-based access and clear retention periods, so your system meets GDPR requirements for handling staff and visitor entry data. We’ll also advise on policy and configuration as part of your survey, and can take over and bring an existing system up to standard if needed.
