What is technology enabled care?
Technology enabled care uses equipment to help people request support and live more independently. It includes telecare alarms and sensors that send alerts to a carer or monitoring service. The care technology needed depends on the setting and how help is provided.
What is the difference between nurse call and warden call?
Nurse call lets patients or residents contact staff in a care home, hospital or hospice. Warden call is used in housing schemes, where a resident's call can go to an on-site team or a monitoring centre.
Does the digital phone switchover affect our care systems?
It can affect warden call and telecare equipment that sends calls over a traditional phone line. Openreach's deadline is 31 January 2027. Ask your equipment supplier and phone provider to check compatibility before the line changes; an analogue device may not work reliably on a digital connection.
Who carries out the work?
Centurion fits nurse call and warden call systems. Hearing loops are fitted by a specialist from our group, with Centurion as your contact.
Can you arrange care call and fire alarm work together?
Yes. Centurion provides nurse call, warden call and fire alarm services, so you can discuss the work through the same contact. We also provide access control for care settings.
