Planning work around your factory

A production floor can be busy while the offices are empty. We look at how each part of your site is used before recommending changes.

  • Heat and dust on the production floor

    The conditions beside a working line can affect which detectors are suitable. We’ll look at those conditions alongside your existing alarm when planning an upgrade.

  • New lines and altered buildings

    Moving a production line can leave camera views or alarm coverage out of step with the layout. Tell us what’s changed so we can look at the affected areas with you.

  • Access while production continues

    Some equipment sits beside working machinery or in areas with restricted access. We’ll agree when those areas are available and identify any work that needs a planned shutdown.

  • Offices closed, factory still running

    Your offices and stores may close before the last shift finishes. We can plan security around those different hours, with separate alarm areas where the equipment supports them.

We install and maintain factory security systems alongside fire alarms. The right changes depend on what’s already installed and what you need it to do.

Fire alarms

Industrial fire alarm systems need to suit both the building and the processes inside it. If you’re extending the factory or replacing an ageing alarm, we’ll look at how the new work fits the equipment already in place.

    Heat and dust help determine where detection can be fitted and which type is suitable.

  • Working with what’s installed

    We’ll check the existing panel and devices before recommending what can stay and what needs to change.

CCTV

When something happens at a loading door or stock room, you need a recording that shows the detail. We install industrial CCTV systems with camera views planned around the areas you want to protect and the incidents you may need to review.

  • The detail you need

    A view of the whole yard does a different job from a close view of a doorway. We’ll help you choose the coverage.

  • A useful view after dark

    We take lighting and night-time activity into account, especially where cameras cover yards and external doors.

  • Finding a recording

    We’ll discuss who needs to view footage, how they’ll find it and whether they need remote access.

Access control

People need to reach their work area without having access to every room on site. We install access control for production buildings, offices and stores, with permissions that reflect the way your teams use them.

  • Access across different shifts

    Set out which doors each team needs to use, including contractors who only need access for a particular job.

  • Lost cards and staff changes

    We’ll discuss who manages permissions, so access can be removed when a card is lost or someone leaves.

  • Controlled doors and escape routes

    How a door opens in an emergency matters as much as who can enter. We consider both when planning access control.

Changes to the building

If an extension or new layout calls for a factory fire risk assessment, we can arrange one through Centurion. We can also discuss fire doors, compartmentation surveys and emergency lighting.

Questions about upgrading your systems

Will we have to replace the whole system?

Not necessarily. We’ll need to check what you have, its condition and how it would work with the proposed changes. Share the make of the equipment and any recent service reports if you have them. We can then explain what can be retained and where replacement is needed.

Can you monitor the intruder alarm when the site is empty?

CCTV and intruder alarm monitoring can be included after checking the equipment and connection. We’ll agree who should be contacted and how an activation is handled. Tell us if different areas close at different times, or if cleaners and late shifts still need access, so the setting routine reflects who is actually on site.
