Commercial fire alarm systems
Conventional, addressable and wireless commercial fire alarm systems, each designed and certificated to BS 5839-1 for the category your premises and fire risk assessment require.
We specify every commercial fire alarm around your building, its occupancy and your fire risk assessment. Whether you need simple zoned coverage for a single office, addressable detection across a multi-storey site, or wireless protection for a heritage building, we combine the right devices with clear, compliant certification.
Conventional systems
Zoned detection for smaller, simpler premises. A cost-effective way to meet BS 5839-1 where device-level location isn’t required.
Addressable systems
Every detector individually identified at the panel, so staff see exactly which device has activated. The standard for larger or multi-storey premises.
Wireless systems
Fast, low-disruption installation for occupied, listed or multi-building sites where cabling is impractical, with fully monitored radio links.
Commercial fire detection systems
Our commercial fire detection systems pair the right detectors with intelligent panels, sounders and visual alarms, specified to pick up a genuine fire early without the false activations that stop work.
From optical smoke detection in open-plan offices to beam and aspirating fire detection systems in high-bay warehousing, every device is selected for the environment it protects and programmed with cause-and-effect that matches how your building is used.

Commercial fire alarm installation
Site survey & design
A free survey by commercial fire alarm installers who assess your premises, occupancy and the findings of your fire risk assessment.
BS 5839 specification
A clear, fixed-price specification setting out your category (L1–L5 or P1–P2), device locations and cause-and-effect design.
Installation
Employed, BAFE-accredited fire alarm installers work cleanly around your operation, in or out of hours, with wireless options where cabling isn’t practical.
Commissioning & certification
We test, commission and hand over BS 5839-1 certification with zone charts, log book and as-fitted documentation.
Every installation can be backed by a planned servicing contract: periodic BS 5839-1 inspection and 24/7 emergency call-out through our maintenance team, keeping your certification and insurance cover valid.
Fire alarm compliance: BS 5839-1 & the Fire Safety Order
BS 5839-1
The British Standard for fire detection and alarm systems in non-domestic premises, covering design, installation, commissioning and ongoing upkeep.
Fire Safety Order 2005
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order makes the responsible person legally accountable for adequate fire detection and warning.
L1–L5: life protection
Life-safety categories from targeted L5 coverage up to L1 full-premises protection. Your fire risk assessment determines the category you need.
P1–P2: property protection
Property categories protecting buildings, stock and equipment. P1 covers the whole building, while P2 covers defined high-risk areas only.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a commercial fire alarm system cost?
Cost depends on the size of your premises, the BS 5839 category required, and the number of detectors and devices. We provide a free site survey and a fixed quote before any work begins.
Do I legally need a commercial fire alarm system?
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, businesses must carry out a fire risk assessment and provide adequate fire detection and warning. BS 5839-1 is the British Standard for designing, installing and maintaining these systems in non-domestic premises.
What type of fire alarm system does my business need?
BS 5839-1 categorises systems by purpose: L-categories (L1-L5) protect life, with L1 giving full premises coverage, while P-categories (P1-P2) protect property. Your category depends on your building’s layout, occupancy and risk assessment – our surveyors will confirm the right specification.
Do you provide fire alarm installation as well as ongoing maintenance?
Yes. We design, install and commission commercial fire alarm systems, and offer ongoing servicing and BS 5839 testing contracts through our maintenance team.
Can a commercial fire alarm integrate with CCTV, intruder alarms or access control?
Yes. Fire alarm panels can be integrated with access control (for automatic door release on activation), CCTV and intruder alarm systems for unified site monitoring.
Are you an accredited fire alarm company?
Yes – our fire alarm installations are carried out by BAFE-accredited engineers, alongside our sitewide NSI Gold and SSAIB accreditations.
