    Overview

    Protecting business premises against break-in

Centurion designs, installs and monitors commercial intruder alarm systems for businesses across Northern England. As an accredited security installer, we specify and certificate commercial alarm systems and business alarm systems to BS EN 50131, with NSI Gold third-party assurance, police-response compliance and Alarm Receiving Centre monitoring as standard.

From single offices to multi-site industrial estates, our employed engineers handle survey, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance in-house. You deal with the same Centurion team from risk survey to certificate handover, with the documentation your insurer and police force require.

    What we install

    Commercial intruder alarm systems

Wired, wireless and hybrid commercial intruder alarms, each system graded and certificated to BS EN 50131 for the protection your premises and insurer require.

We specify commercial intruder alarms around your building, your risk profile and your insurance requirements. Whether you need discreet protection for an office, wide-area detection for a warehouse, or a scalable system across a multi-site estate, our security alarm systems combine the right detection technology with monitoring and police response.

    01 · Wired

    Wired systems

Hard-wired detection for new-builds, refurbishments and larger premises where cabling can be installed cleanly. A dependable, interference-free option for permanent commercial installations.

    02 · Wireless

    Wireless systems

Fast, low-disruption installation for occupied or heritage premises where cabling is impractical. Encrypted, supervised radio sensors with long battery life and full grading.

    Minimal disruption · Occupied sites
    03 · Hybrid

    Hybrid systems

Hybrid systems use a wired backbone with wireless devices for difficult zones, outbuildings and phased expansions without re-cabling the whole site.

    Commercial & business burglar alarms

Whether you call it an intruder alarm or a burglar alarm, it's the same job: stopping a break-in before it costs you stock, equipment and downtime. Our commercial burglar alarms use the same graded detection and monitoring as our intruder systems, framed around the threat every business owner actually worries about.

For retail units, trade counters, warehouses and offices, business burglar alarms deter opportunists, detect forced entry and summon a fast, verified response. We'll match the level of protection to your stock value, footprint and insurance terms.

Perimeter & internal detection: door contacts, PIR, dual-tech and shock sensors mapped to your layout.
Visible deterrent: external sounders and signage that put off opportunist break-ins before they start.
Insurance-aligned grading: specified to satisfy your policy and keep premiums and cover in check.

    How we work

    Intruder alarm installation

    01

    Security survey

A free site survey to assess risk, entry points, insurance terms and the grade of system your premises needs.

    02

    Design & quote

A clear, fixed-price specification covering detection zones, grade and monitoring, mapped to your building and budget.

    03

    Installation

Employed, accredited engineers install cleanly around your operation, with wireless options where cabling isn't practical.

    04

    Commission & certify

We test, commission, register your police URN and hand over full BS EN 50131 certification and documentation.

Every install is backed by a maintenance contract: planned servicing to BS EN 50131 with 24/7 emergency call-out, keeping your system compliant and your cover valid.

    Always watching

    Monitored intruder alarms

An unmonitored alarm only makes noise. Monitored intruder alarms connect your system to a 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), so every activation triggers a verified response: keyholder, police or both, day or night.

We register your police Unique Reference Number (URN), set your escalation protocol and give you control of the system from your phone.

    24/7 ARC monitoring

Signals handled by an NSI-approved Alarm Receiving Centre, every hour of every day.

    Keyholding & response

Nominated keyholders alerted instantly, with optional keyholding and guard response.

    Police response

Registered police URN with confirmed activation for a fast, prioritised response.

    App control

Arm, disarm and check status from your phone, with alerts and a full event log.

    Why Centurion

Why businesses choose our intruder alarms

Three decades as a dedicated commercial security company, NSI Gold accredited, in-house and accountable from first survey to final BS EN 50131 certificate.

    01

    NSI Gold accredited

Every intruder alarm is designed and signed off to BS EN 50131 by NSI Gold third-party certified engineers. Your insurer and police force get the documentation they need as standard.

    02

    Commercial only

We focus entirely on business premises. Every system accounts for stock value, insurance terms and the realities of a working site, rather than stretching domestic kit across a commercial building.

    03

    End-to-end in-house

Survey, design, installation, commissioning and monitoring are delivered by employed Centurion engineers. The team that specifies the system stays accountable through handover.

    04

    Regional, rapid response

Engineers based across Yorkshire and the North mean faster maintenance visits and emergency call-outs. Local staff handle local sites without extended national call-centre delays.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does a commercial intruder alarm system cost?

Cost depends on the size of your premises, the grade of system your insurer requires (BS EN 50131 Grade 2–4), whether it's wired, wireless or hybrid, and the level of monitoring. A small office system starts at a few hundred pounds; larger graded, monitored systems for industrial sites cost more. We provide a clear, fixed-price quote after a free security survey.

What grade of alarm does my business need?

Your grade is usually set by your insurer and your risk profile. As a guide: Grade 2 suits shops and small offices, Grade 3 covers higher-risk commercial and retail premises, and Grade 4 protects high-value or industrial sites. We confirm the right grade during your survey and certificate the system to BS EN 50131 so it satisfies your policy.

Do you offer monitored intruder alarms?

Yes. We connect your system to a 24/7 NSI-approved Alarm Receiving Centre, register your police Unique Reference Number (URN) and set your escalation protocol: keyholder, police response or both. Monitored intruder alarms turn an activation into a verified response whether your premises are occupied or not, and you can arm, disarm and check status from your phone.

Can the alarm integrate with CCTV and access control?

Yes. Verified CCTV confirms intruder activations and cuts false police call-outs, while access control can set and unset the alarm and trigger lockdown. Because we design, install and monitor all of it in-house, the same Centurion team owns the integration from survey to handover.

Can you take over a system another company installed?

In most cases, yes. We'll survey your existing intruder alarm, advise on any remedial work needed to bring it up to current BS EN 50131 standards, and put it on a planned-maintenance contract with 24/7 emergency call-out. We'll also tell you honestly whether a replacement is more cost-effective than ongoing repair of an ageing system.
