The challenge
The brief
Forget Me Not Children's Hospice provides outstanding care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families. Creating a safe, secure and welcoming environment for children, families, staff, volunteers and visitors is central to the hospice's day-to-day operations.
Centurion Fire & Security had already worked closely with the hospice over several years, including support with access control and the ongoing improvement of its wider security infrastructure.
As the hospice's operational needs developed, the team required a more capable CCTV system with better site-wide coverage, improved vehicle monitoring and easier access to live and recorded footage.
The previous CCTV setup did not provide the level of visibility or functionality needed across the full site. Reviewing incidents could take longer than necessary, and the team needed a system that made it easier to find, save and securely share footage when required.
Any solution also had to be sensitive to the nature of the hospice environment. The aim was not to modernise for the sake of it, but to improve safeguarding, support day-to-day operations and give the facilities team better control.
"Forget Me Not Children's Hospice has been working with Centurion Fire & Security for the last few years. In that time, they've provided us with a new access control system and upgraded our CCTV system, providing additional cameras to deliver full site coverage and integrating it with the Brivo Eagle Eye platform.
Facilities Team, Forget Me Not Children's Hospice
The access control system has simplified our process for managing access to the hospice while improving the security of the building. The improvements to the CCTV system have been a significant step forward from what we had previously, particularly with the addition of ANPR, which enables us to easily identify vehicles entering the car park.
The Brivo Eagle Eye system has enabled us to review footage following incidents on-site, with powerful search functionality that means we can quickly find the footage we need, save it, and securely share it with the police when required.
The servicing and support that Centurion has provided for all the equipment they have installed has been excellent. Their team are always understanding of the sensitivities of working in a hospice environment and work around us whenever required."
How we worked
Our approach
System design
Centurion designed a comprehensive CCTV upgrade centred around the Brivo Eagle Eye Video Management System.
Site-wide camera coverage
Internal and external cameras were positioned across entrances, exits, perimeter areas, car parks, grounds, communal areas and key operational spaces.
Vehicle monitoring
ANPR cameras were introduced to monitor vehicles entering and leaving the site, helping the facilities team identify vehicles and review activity quickly.
Cloud video management
Brivo Eagle Eye gave authorised users secure access to live and recorded footage from desktop and mobile devices, with intelligent search tools to speed up investigations.
Future-ready platform
The cloud-based architecture simplified management, reduced on-site infrastructure, improved cybersecurity and gave the hospice room to scale.
What was delivered
The outcome
Forget Me Not Children's Hospice now has a modern CCTV and access control solution that improves safeguarding, site visibility, vehicle monitoring, incident review and day-to-day operational efficiency.
The project has provided the hospice with a future-ready security solution that strengthens safety across the site while making it easier for the facilities team to manage the estate.
With improved CCTV coverage, ANPR cameras and Brivo Eagle Eye cloud video management, authorised users can now review footage faster, monitor key areas more effectively and securely share evidence with external agencies when needed.
The upgrade gives the hospice a more reliable and scalable security platform, supporting both current operational needs and future growth.
