What does a fire and security company actually do?

A fire and security company surveys your premises, then designs, installs, commissions and maintains life-safety and security systems — fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control and CCTV. Centurion delivers all of these in-house and certificates the work to the relevant British Standards so it satisfies your insurer and the fire authority.

Do you only work with commercial premises?

Yes. We specialise in commercial security systems for businesses — offices, schools, healthcare, retail and industrial sites. That focus means every design accounts for compliance, business continuity and the realities of a working site, rather than a domestic one-size-fits-all approach.

Which areas do you cover?

From our Huddersfield base we cover Yorkshire, the North West and the North East — including Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Bradford, York and Liverpool. If you’re unsure whether we reach your site, get in touch and we’ll confirm coverage and response times.

Are your installations certified and compliant?

All work is carried out by NSI Gold, BAFE and FIA-accredited engineers and certificated to standards including BS 5839-1 (fire), BS EN 50131 (intruder), EN 60839-11 (access) and BS EN 62676 (CCTV). You receive all documentation your insurer, landlord and fire risk assessment require.

Can you maintain a system another company installed?

In most cases, yes. We’ll survey your existing systems, advise on any remedial work needed to bring them up to current standards, and put them on a planned-maintenance contract with 24/7 emergency call-out. We’ll also tell you honestly whether a full replacement is more cost-effective than ongoing repair.
